About Me

Niklas Myhr, Ph.D., is known as The Social Media Professor and teaches Social Media, Digital & Global Marketing at Chapman University* where he serves on the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Marketing. Dr. Myhr holds a Ph.D. from the Darden School at the University of Virginia and has also taught at American University and at Tulane University. Dr. Myhr is also an awardee of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences for his research on partnerships in global supply chains. As Google’s #1 ranked “Social Media Professor,” Dr. Myhr is also an international keynote speaker and has been featured in publications such as BBC, The Washington Post, Marketplace Morning Report, InformationWeek, ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX News, USA Today, Huffington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, and ESPN.

Niklas MyhrDr. Myhr has received monetary awards by The Hans Werthén Foundation at the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA), a Best Paper Award by Supply Chain Management: an International Journal, a top 20 most downloaded papers award by the International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management (IJPDLM), and a Bloomberg Business Week Award for Teaching Innovation.

Previously, at the Swedish Institute of Management (IFL), Dr. Myhr worked with Executive Education programs held for large Scandinavian multinationals in Europe, the United States, and China. He also holds an M.S. degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Linköping University in Sweden. Dr. Myhr is an American Marketing Association Doctoral Consortium Fellow and has served as an Executive Director on the Board of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in Washington DC.
